Two newly built roundabouts on the A12 near Yoxford and saxmundhams have opened to traffic, aimed at improving safety and easing congestion for local drivers.
The upgrades provide new access points at the A1094 at Friday Street and the B1122, supporting traffic linked to the Sizewell C construction site. The project is expected to bring up to 8,000 workers to the area at its peak.
The redesigned junctions replace older layouts which had become increasingly busy and difficult to navigate, particularly at peak times.
Although the roundabouts are now in use, further work including landscaping and finishing touches will continue over the coming months.
Sizewell C says the improvements will help make journeys more reliable for residents, businesses and visitors, while also supporting construction traffic linked to the project.
The work forms part of a wider programme of road upgrades in the area, including the planned Sizewell Link Road, which will divert construction traffic away from nearby villages, and the Two Village Bypass, designed to reduce traffic through Stratford St Andrew and Farnham.
Drivers in the area are being advised to remain aware of ongoing works while the project is completed.
