An 18-year-old man has been charged following a reported rape in Lowestoft in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police say the incident began shortly after midnight, when a woman in her 20s and a friend got into a taxi outside the Blues public house. An unknown man also entered the vehicle.
After arriving at The Volunteer public house on London Road North, the woman and the man both got out and walked towards Milton Road East.
It is reported the man then led the woman into an alleyway near the junction of Arnold Street, where she was sexually assaulted. He then ran along London Road North before turning into Gordon Road.
Around 12 hours later, police arrested an 18-year-old man from Lowestoft, who was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Harvey Flory, of Shaw Avenue, has since been charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault by penetration. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court.
The victim continues to be supported by specially trained officers.
