The Princess Royal has visited Lowestoft to celebrate 60 years of Citizens Advice East Suffolk.
Princess Anne arrived by helicopter at Denes Oval before making her way to St Margaret’s House in Gordon’s Road, where she met staff and volunteers. As national patron of the Citizens Advice service, the Princess spoke with the team about their work in supporting local residents.
Citizens Advice East Suffolk offers free, confidential and impartial guidance on issues including housing, debt, employment and personal matters. The charity runs offices including in Lowestoft, Beccles, Leiston, Woodbridge and Felixstowe, supporting thousands of people across the district each year.
The visit marked the organisation’s 60th anniversary, recognising six decades of service to the community. Staff and volunteers spoke with the Princess Royal about the pressures facing local people and the role Citizens Advice plays in providing support.
The anniversary highlights the long-standing role of the charity in helping residents navigate challenges in daily life, from financial worries to housing concerns.
