It’s 10 years since Sandra Liddell who’s from Henstead had life saving surgery because of a brain condition called a Cavonoma.
A Henstead woman is marking ten years since her life-saving surgery by organising a special fundraiser for a charity close to her heart.
Sandra Liddell was diagnosed with a cavernoma — a cluster of abnormal blood vessels in the brain — which led to a serious bleed. The surgery saved her life, but Sandra continues to live with severe pain and facial paralysis as a result.
Now, a decade on, she is organising an awareness and fundraising event in support of Cavernoma Alliance UK, the national charity supporting people living with the condition.
Sandra has already raised thousands of pounds for good causes over the years, but says this occasion feels especially important. She told East Suffolk One she is looking forward to bringing the community together to raise awareness and funds for a condition many people have never heard of.
