Police have introduced a dispersal order in Lowestoft town centre following reports of ongoing anti-social behaviour.
The Section 35 order was authorised at 2:10pm today (Wednesday 18th March) and will remain in place for 48 hours, giving officers additional powers to manage behaviour in the area.
Under the order, police can direct anyone aged 10 and over who is involved in, or likely to become involved in, anti-social behaviour to leave the town centre.
Officers have already issued one direction-to-leave notice, with several others spoken to and advised to move on.
Additional patrols are in place, with Community Policing Team (CPT) and Response Investigation Team (RIT) officers due to be out in force.
Police have warned that failing to comply with a direction to leave, or returning to the area during the period of the order, is an offence and could lead to arrest.
Residents are being encouraged to report any concerns, particularly in emergencies, while the order remains active.
