A new drainage system has been installed to help reduce flooding on a key coastal route between Wrentham and Southwold.
The work has taken place in the Easton Valley along the B1127, a road that is often forced to close during periods of heavy rain due to rising water levels.
Natural England says the project uses natural flood management techniques to improve drainage in the area and reduce the risk of flooding affecting the road.
The B1127 is an important link for residents and commuters travelling between Lowestoft, Wrentham and Southwold, and repeated closures have caused disruption in the past.
By improving drainage, the scheme aims to keep the route open more consistently, particularly during wet weather.
As well as helping road users, the project is also designed to protect local wildlife habitats in the surrounding area.
Natural England says the work is part of wider efforts to balance infrastructure needs with environmental protection.
