Supporting Ukraine from Suffolk

Recognising the ongoing humanitarian need in Ukraine, Help2Ukraine Suffolk was established in 2024 by a dedicated group of volunteers based in Suffolk, supported by partners in Yorkshire. The initiative was created to acquire decommissioned NHS ambulances and personally drive them to Ukraine, fully equipped with vital medical supplies.

Proven Impact

The project has already delivered meaningful results:
• 2024: 4 ambulances purchased and delivered
• 2025: 4 ambulances purchased and delivered
• All vehicles stocked with essential medical equipment and supplies

2026 Mission – What’s Needed

In 2026, Help2Ukraine Suffolk has purchased 4 additional ambulances. The focus is now on funding the logistics required to deliver them to Ukraine, including insurance, MOT testing, fuel, tools, channel crossings, and accommodation for volunteer drivers.

All food and personal expenses are covered by volunteers themselves, ensuring that donations go directly towards delivering ambulances and supplies.

How It Works

Through a trusted medical network, Help2Ukraine Suffolk sources decommissioned ambulances, equips them with donated supplies, and delivers them directly to Ukraine.

Community Fundraising

Recent fundraising events include 'Come and Sing Messiah' and the Southwold Dog Show, which together have funded the purchase of two ambulances in 2026.

Long-Term Need

Even when peace is restored, Ukraine will continue to require medical transport and ongoing support for wounded individuals, alongside long-term rebuilding efforts.

East Suffolk One spoke with Janee Miller, who discussed fundraising events here in Suffolk in aid of supporting Ukraine.
